Overview

The CIO/IT Leader of the Year Private Sector will demonstrate how they have positioned the role of CIO strategically within the company. They will be able to show innovation and key successes achieved and demonstrate how this fits with the company’s overall business strategy. They will be judged on their innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future technology goals, leadership and management philosophies, and service to the business.

Criteria
  • Description of Nominee’s Contribution to the organisation: 300 words maximum
  • Knowledge/Skills – How has the applicant demonstrated exceptional and skills and knowledge in the ICT industry – this can include examples of making a difference, judgement, negotiation, technical skills, innovation etc. Up to 300 words maximum
  • Projects/Initiatives – Give an example of a projects/initiatives the applicant has delivered or supported – please give details of their work including: high-quality deliverables, strong work ethic, problems and challenges. Up to 300 words maximum
  • Leadership – Give examples of how the applicant has shown leadership qualities, demonstrated an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, displayed communications skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new situations. Up to 300 words maximum

Outstanding Female Leader of the Year in ICT

Overview

This award will go to the woman whose successes stand out and is performing at the highest level. 

Judges are looking for one outstanding individual and role model who has a proven track record of success, is doing remarkable work and making a difference to others. From breaking glass ceilings, to building a vibrant business, to changing attitudes in the industry, the winner of this award will already be standing out from the crowd. Finalists in this category will be able to demonstrate passion, dedication and fierce determination through their own style

Overview

CIO/IT Leader of the Year in the Government/ Public Sector will demonstrate how they have positioned the role of CIO strategically within the organisation. They will be able to show innovation and key successes achieved in the past 12 months and into the future and show how this fits with the organisation’s overall business strategy. They will be judged on their innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future technology goals, leadership and management philosophies, and service to the organisation.

Criteria
  • Description of Nominee’s Contribution to the government/public sector: 300 words maximum
  • Knowledge/Skills – How has the applicant demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge in the ICT space within the Government/Public Sector – this can include examples of making a difference, judgement, technical skills, negotiation, innovation etc. Up to 300 words maximum

Data Leader of the Year

Overview

The Data Leader of the Year award recognises a technology leader who has demonstrated successful results in delivering innovative data technology projects within the last 2 years. The judges are looking for innovative data solutions that have solved organisation issues and/or had significant measurable impact. Please be sure to showcase how the data leader has made a significant difference to the organisation or team in question.

These results can include:

  • Successful deployment of data technologies that improve how their organisation or company manages data.
  • Building effective data strategies that enhance decision-making with data.
  • Furthering knowledge, awareness and education around the management of data and related technologies within the organisation.
Criteria
  1. Data Challenge – Describe the biggest challenges pertaining to data the nominee led on and the proposed solution and the success of its deployment. 300 words maximum
  2. Innovative Solution – Describe what is innovative about any Data-led project(s) the nominee led and how it solves a business problem: 300 words maximum

    Emerging ICT Leader of the Year

    Overview

    An individual who has progressed rapidly in the last 2 years and demonstrated both business value and innovation through the use of technology in any of the following areas

    • Delivering effective IT or technology strategies.
    • Improving decision-making with technology
    • Implementing new tech innovation in the business that creates business value and drives efficiencies and cost savings
    • Driving awareness and education around technology.
    Criteria
    • Knowledge/Skills – How has the applicant demonstrate exceptional skills and knowledge in the ICT industry – this can include examples of technical skills, making a difference, judgement, soft skills, etc Up to 300 words maximum

    This award will recognise the outstanding accomplishments of this ICT graduate and their invaluable contributions to the world of ICT.

    Criteria

      2. Provide examples of exceptional technical skills and knowledge in their ICT field, including practical application of their academic learning to real-world problems and challenges. Up to 300 words maximum
      3. Provide examples or description of a strong work ethic, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and on budget. Up to 300 words maximum

    Best ICT Team for Culture & Inclusion

    Overview

    This award will honour an individual or organisation in ICT for outstanding work in putting diversity higher up the agenda and promoting the values of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This is an opportunity to highlight any innovative initiatives, projects, or leaders that have helped bring more equality in the industry. Please include particular note to any novel technology solutions that have aided the contribution to culture and inclusion.

    Criteria
    • Describe the individual or organisation’s unique approach to promoting culture and inclusion in ICT. Up to 300 words maximum
    • Provide any measurable examples that indicate how the individual or organisation has improved the industry culture or inclusion, give examples of any novel technology solutions if used.  Up to 300 words maximum

    Exceptional Cloud Project of the Year

    Overview

    In this category, the judges are looking for a single case study or project which showcases innovation in the cloud in an impressive or truly transformational way. Joint submissions are allowed and should be indicated clearly on your submission. In-house cloud projects are also accepted. The judges are looking for innovative cloud-based solutions that have solved organisation issues and/or had significant measurable impact. Please be sure to showcase how the cloud has made a significant difference to the organisation or team in question.

    Criteria
    1. Description – Please provide a brief description of the Cloud project: Up to 300 words maximum. 
    2. Cloud Challenge – Describe the biggest challenges pertaining to the Cloud the project addressed, and how the proposed solution came to be. Up to 300 words maximum
    3. Innovative Solution – Describe what is innovative or novel about this Cloud project and how it solves a business problem: Up to 300 words maximum
    4. Measurable results – Describe the measurable business results of the Cloud project: Up to 300 words maximum

    Best Use of AI in the Cloud

    Overview

    This category is open to both the private and public sector. This award recognises a professional or team who have demonstrated outstanding innovation with the deployment of an AI Project within their own or a client’s organisation. The judges are looking for a single case study of AI which showcases innovation in the industry in an impressive or truly transformational way. The judges will look at products/services, how innovative/novel the AI project was, measurable examples of ROI achieved and tailored customisations in specific enterprise environments.  

    Criteria
    • Description – Brief description of the Project including its benefits: Up to 300 words maximum
    • AI Challenge – Describe the biggest organisation or industry challenge that the AI project was able to address, and how the proposed solution came to be. Up to 300 words maximum
    • Innovative Solution – Describe what is innovative or novel about this AI project and how it solves a business problem. Up to 300 words maximum
    • Measurable results – Describe the measurable results of the AI project. Up to 300 words maximum.

    Excellence in Learning and Development in ICT

    Overview

    This award celebrates a learning and development initiative or program in the ICT space whether in-house or developed by a specialist training provider that has helped advance organisation-wide learning. This initiative or program may have solved a company issue or upgraded an existing system and has positively impacted employees. Please include particular note to any novel technology solutions that have aided the Learning and Development initiatives. 

    Criteria
    • Description – Provide a description of the approach adopted and reference tangible examples of how they are effectively tackling the skills gap. Up to 300 words maximum
    • Challenge – Describe any challenges within your organisation or within the ICT that the L&D solution sought to address. Up to 300 words maximum. 
    • Innovative Solution – Summarise why this is a forward-thinking or unique program in the ICT space. Up to 300 words maximum
    • Measurable Change – List key metrics, milestones, or performance outcomes achieved so far. Up to 300 words maximum

    IT Support Company of the Year

    Overview

    This award celebrates a Managed IT Services and IT Support Company that has excelled in the delivery of service support for industry within the technology space. The judges will look at support services offered and tailored customisations in specific enterprise environments that have delivered savings and cost efficiencies for clients.

    • IT Support Company Description: Up to 300 words maximum
    • Challenge – Describe what key challenge the IT service company oversaw within the last 2 years and how they solved a key industry problem: Up to 300 words maximum
    • Innovative Solution – Describe a way the IT Services or IT Support Company stands out from the competition and differentiates with innovative or novel offerings. Up to 300 words maximum.

    Security Leader of the Year

    Overview

    This category is open to both the private and public sector and honours a Security Leader that has demonstrated excellence, leadership and has promoted strong and innovative security practices. Judges will assess the candidate’s unique approaches to security and the impact of their policies, procedures and projects within their organisation.

    • Challenge – Describe what key challenge the IT service company oversaw within the last 2 years and how they solved a key business problem: 300 words maximum

    Outstanding Contribution to Planet Earth Through Technology

    Overview

    This award honours the achievements of organisations that have successfully planned and executed a sustainability initiative(s) through the use of IT.  Entries should demonstrate how using technology and innovation to drive a sustainable initiative within an organisation has produced a range of benefits for the organisation and/ or communities. The initiative or project could address any/or all of the three pillars of sustainability: Economic, Environmental, and Social (Profits, Planet and People).

    Criteria
    • Provide a brief description of the organisation’s approach to sustainability. Up to 300 words maximum.  
    • Challenge – Describe the biggest challenge with this project and how it was solved? 300 words maximum
    • Innovative Solution – Describe what is innovative about this project: 300 words maximum

    Start-up Technology Company of the Year

    Overview

    Emerging technologies are the life-blood of the industry . Our Start-Up Technology Company of the Year Award recognises the best in emerging technologies and future disruptors within the sector including: Advanced Robotics, AI, BIO-Tech, Biometrics, 5G, Quantum Computing, Blockchain, Augmented Virtual Reality and the ICT sector at large. 

    Entries will be judged on their innovation and creativity as well as their approach in successfully delivering and deploying their solutions to market

    Overview

    The Best ICT Project of the Year award recognises a public or private sector technology project that has transformed business operations in the workplace and/or customer experiences. The award is not limited to any specific type of project, as long as it uses IT to benefit the organisation or its clients and measurable results or impact can be demonstrated.

    • Challenge – Describe what key challenge was overcome by the project how it solved a key business problem: Up to 300 words maximum
    • Innovative Solution – Describe the novel approach this project took to overcome any challenges or business problems. Up to 300 words maximum
